26 April: Africa–Europe Roundtable on Space Cooperation

27 April: EU-AU Space Seminar: unlocking the full potential of private company service delivery through space data, science & technology and services

09:00-17:30 (GMT) | 11:00-19:30 (CEST)

Following the organisation of multiple webinars and a successful physical event in South Africa last year, the EU Global Action on Space is thrilled to return to the region by participating in the organisation of the upcoming NewSpace Africa 2023 Conference scheduled to take place in Abidjan, Côte D’Ivoire on 25-28 April 2023.

More precisely, the EU Global Action on Space is pleased to lead the organisation of two key activities:

  • On 26 April, the EU Global Action on Space in collaboration with the African Union Commission will be coordinating a roundtable session titled “Africa–Europe Roundtable on Space Cooperation”. [14:30-16:30 (GMT) – 16:30-18:30 (CEST)]

  • On 27 April, the EU Global Action on Space in collaboration with Expertise France will deliver a full-day EU-AU Space Seminar around the topic of “Unlocking the full potential of private company service delivery through space data, science & technology and services”. [09:00-17:30 (GMT) – 11:00-19:30 (CEST)]

The Conference will also provide the perfect opportunity to announce the 15 African winners of the GMES & Africa Startups Development Programme and the 2-day training organised by the European Union to guide them towards the commercialisation of their innovative ideas.

Specifically, while the policy-oriented Africa-Europe roundtable will focus on strengthening cooperation for business and sustainable growth in space between the two regions, the EU-AU seminar will be an occasion, particularly for SMEs and NewSpace companies from both regions, to network, share success stories, and explore business opportunities.

Space startups and SMEs from both continents will have the opportunity to showcase their innovative services and solutions in pitching & match-making sessions.

The EU-AU seminar will be followed by a networking cocktail at 17:30-18:30 (GMT) aimed at facilitating the continuation of discussions that emerged throughout the day between the participants and attendees.
